About Your Design Lead.
I’m Sam Ferello, I help lean teams build design systems for better scalability and creative outcomes.
As a design lead & strategist, I have over 7 years experience strengthening brand awareness and trust through digital and on-site brand interactions. My work emphasizes visual information design in the education, health, and travel spaces.
I am currently open to contract, part-time, and full-time roles.
The best work is done through rigor and relationships.
Design is all about the details. Here’s a closer look at where my work shines:
Creative Management
As your design partner, I’ll help manage the full creative life cycle - from writing creative briefs and getting internal approvals to sourcing vendors, production, and post-deployment insights. I thrive where strategy meets tactics. You’ll see me there most days with a ginger beer and a crossword book.
Visual Strategy
All good design is backed by strategy - an understanding of where you are, where you want to go, and how we can leverage visual touchpoints to reach your destination.
My focus on data and direction makes me a valuable creative manager to work alongside marketing, sales, and ops teams for more impactful, targeted creative.
Information & layout
Presentation decks, infographics, brochures & pick-ups, e-books & zines, race guides, exhibit design, maps - heck, even wedding invites. Visual design helps us break down complex ideas and turn them into a cohesive story. That’s pretty sick stuff.
Event & Conference
More than ever people crave in-person experiences. But hosting an event can test even seasoned teams and who deserve dedicated resources (that’s me!)
Event materials often include secondary branding, wayfinding signs, booths & tablescapes, digital & print communications, OOH ads, and swag.
Brand Systems
A healthy brand includes graphics, guidelines, tools, and repeatable systems that scale. Logos are just the beginning.
Your brand system should educate and build trust with your audience while supporting sustainable creative production.
